The SJJA Fundamentals program is where your journey begins with classes catering for all ages, genders and fitness levels, no prior martial art experience necessary. Whether you want to lose weight, gain strength, gain confidence, or learn self-defence, the SJJA team will be there to motivate you all the way. Just as pressure makes diamonds, we believe that facing challenges head-on can unlock unimaginable strength in our mind, body and spirit.
Modelled on the training and fitness regime of World Champion BJJ athlete Bruno Alves, SJJA fuses Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and self-defence with group functional fitness under the guidance of Bruno’s elite coaching methodology. With classes catering for all ages and fitness levels, SJJA students learn the world’s most effective martial art while enjoying a full-body workout in a supportive team environment.
As well as the world’s most effective martial art, students learn lifelong values that will translate into other parts of their life, from home to work to socialising. World Champion and successful entrepreneur Bruno Alves created SJJA with his winning mindset at its core so that his students can learn to think like a champion on and off the mats.
A typical Fundamentals class begins with some stretching, cardio and strength warm-ups before dividing students into pairs and learning several Jiu-jitsu techniques under our world-class instructors. The SJJA Fundamental Program focuses on one foundational Jiu-jitsu position every week, so that beginners can put their game together piece by piece. As they progress, students gain access to higher level classes.
Unlike many other martial arts gyms, our members get fit, not hit. That’s because we practice Jiu-jitsu while taking care of our training partners’ safety, which allows students to train their hardest without fear of being hurt.
Don’t be afraid, we’re a friendly bunch! Come for a free trial of our Fundamentals Program where you’ll learn the most foundational Jiu-jitsu techniques while getting a full-body workout.
